what is alliwantforchristmas.com?
alliwantforchristmas.com is the web’s premier wishlist site. Based in the UK, but available to users worldwide, it is absolutely FREE and easy to use. With alliwantforchristmas.com you can post your own Christmas list online and browse the wishlists of friends and family. An online Christmas list takes the stress out of Christmas shopping, making life easier for everyone during the hectic holiday season.

how do I make my wishlist?
- Firstly, you must register your details – it only takes a minute! Your privacy is very important to alliwantforchristmas.com and we NEVER disclose personal details to third parties. If you want to control who sees your list you may pick an optional public password at this stage.

- Next, get listing! For each gift listed you can provide a website link, so that friends and family can find the item with ease and shop directly. You can also add comments about the gift and choose its priority status.

-Finally, you invite friends and family to view your list. If they want to choose something from your list, they can reserve that gift to make sure you don't end up with two.

do I pay for gifts through alliwantforchristmas.com?
No, we simply provide a place for you and your friends to keep your lists. If you find a gift you want to buy, you should reserve it through the site to make sure nobody else buys the same thing, and then go ahead and buy the gift as normal either online or in person from wherever you choose.

how much does it cost?
Nothing, alliwantforchristmas.com is absolutely free.

I have a common name, how will my friends identify me?
When you register, you provide an identifying feature, such as the town where you live, or the name of a relative. When your friends search for your list, they can use this fact to differentiate you from your namesakes.

what's stopping two people getting me the same gift?
alliwantforchristmas.com will only allow one person to reserve each gift. Once a gift has been taken, the "reserve" link next to it will disappear.

why can't I see which gifts off my list have been reserved?
That would spoil the surprise!

why is one of the gifts on my friend's list marked as new when I've seen it before?
Gifts on your friends' lists get marked as new if they have been put on there since you last checked their list. They also get marked as new if your friend makes changes to the listing, e.g. adding a website link.

do I have to include a website link?
No, don't worry if you haven't tracked down your gift online. If you don't provide a website link we'll automatically link your gift to a suitable online store depending on the type of gift, e.g. Amazon for books.

should I use a public password?
This is really a matter of preference. Some people are happy letting anyone see their list, so they don't need to supply a public password. Other people are more concerned about privacy, so they restrict access to their list by requiring a public password. The downside is that they have to remember to tell all their friends and family their password. You can add or remove a public password at any time using the "Update personal details" link on the home page.

my e-mail address has changed since last year
That's fine, you can change the e-mail address on your account here

one of my friends seems to be registered twice
It could just be that there are two different people with the same name. Ask your friend to add an identifying feature, which they can do from the "Update personal details" link on the home page. If they actually are registered twice, they can remove one of their lists using the same page.
